Heavens Wicked tckts fiasco has a happy ending.

Just had to let you know, since some of you were so incredibly helpful with this mess. I SOLD THEM. Not on Ebay. But on Craigslist. I sold them to a man whose ad I saw on CL bc he was looking for tickets to take his Mom and Aunt. I called him, we chatted, he sent the check, I emailed him the tickets. He's happy, I'm happy, no fee and pretty close to the original price of the tickets. Close enough, that is for sure.

Lessons learned: Be VERY careful when buying tickets on Ticketmaster that you are buying in the city that you plan to travel to. TM can get confusing and can change windows without you realizing it. Also, if you do a major screw up, call them right away and explain. I think if we had done this, we might have worked it out.

IF you get stuck with tickets like I did, list on Ebay (there will be a fee if you sell them) and list for free on Craigslist. I stated, with advice from Fodors posters, that I bought these by mistake and that it was a solid sale, no gimmicks, no brokers. Don't know if that helped or not.

My buyer just happened to be an honest guy who wanted to help me out. He was also in San Diego where I meant to buy the tickets, so I think he could relate to our goof. It is so wonderful to work with honest people.

So, happy ending. We are all trying to buy tickets to events for when we travel and most of the time that means TM, so just be careful and take your time before you hit the final button. That goes for Priceline too.

Thanks all of you, so much for all of your help, feedback, comments and advice. Especially Kelly and Betsy, and Starrsville. Let's get together and I'll buy the margaritas. Yahoo!

That is great news Heavens! Thanks for reporting back. Sounds like a win/win situation for both you and the buyer.

Heavens, did you get tickets to see Wicked in the city you wanted to see it in?

I am so glad for you, Heavens! Thanks for posting the update. Its good to know that Craigslist worked. I've been happy with my merchandise transactions via CL.

I'll take my margarita, on the rocks, no salt!

Craigslist can be great for that sort of thing. We decided not to go see Three Days of Rain on Broadway (for which we had tickets) in order to see Lieutenant of Inishmore instead. I put them on Craigslist just two days before and after a couple of emails, actually had this guy meet us at a restaurant in New York where we were having lunch to pick up the tickets and pay me cash for them. His finance was ecstatic to have found them, and I was happy to sell them at full face value.

No, haven't gotten Wicked tickets in SD yet. Kind of waiting to see what else is going on. Might go look right now. This whole thing kind of turned me off to wanting to go and see it, so haven't been pursuing. Might check it out. CL is definately a good option. Does require a bit of trust on both sides, though. But, no guts, no glory as they say...
