Hearst Castle hotels
Looking for a relatively inexpensive (under $100) nice place to stay near Hearst Castle. Ideas?
|
Went up the coast about 1 1/2 years ago and stayed along the coast highway right down the road from Hearst. Not much there and most of them aren't the greatest. Look through a AAA book for some names of hotels; at least you'll get a discount.

You might try Morrow Bay, which isn't far from Hearst Castle. There are several chain motels there.

I meant Morro Bay - sorry about that - it's Monday morning.

Second the motion on Morro Bay. It's a neat little town, with reasonable digs and places to eat. It's fun poking around the Rock, as well.
|
Try Cambria... check the Cambria Pines Lodge and the Fogcatcher Inn. They have great specials that run about $109.oo a night which include champagne upon arrival, dinner (very good at the Cambria Pines Lodge) and a continental breakfast. Have a great time!
Lynette

I found this on the Hearst Castle web site. Some of the places are under $100.00.

http://www.hearstcastle.org/friends/lodging.asp
