Healdsburg trip advice please
Thurs- 5pm or later check in since flight arrives around 2 and rental car etc.. Lodging is at Grape Leaf Inn, the Morevedra room. There's no availability in Grape leaf for fri, so we were thinking of hopping over to
FRI- Healdsburg Inn at the plaza, a superior king room. So far I've contacted 410 Matheson, Hotel Healdsburg, duchamp, honor mansion, and camellia inn and they're all booked. Ideally, we would've wanted Hotel Healdsburg or Duchamp but HH is booked and we're on the waiting list for Duchamp. Do you think the above b&bs are worth jumping around Healdsburg for? I can't find any reviews about the Healdsburg Inn at the plaza. An alternative for us is just staying at Grape Leaf inn and making just one day out of healdsburg and driving out to SF earlier than expected. Thanks in advance. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
We stayed at Healdsburg Inn on the Plaza many years ago. It was an unplanned stay and we were glad we ended up there. I would recommend it. It is right on the little town square there so I guess it would be a different feel than other B&B's further away from town center. Healdsburg is a nice area esp. if you're going for wine tasting. There was a very good restaurant that the hotel suggested but I can't remember the name, sorry. Enjoy and don't worry.

Too bad Hotel Healdsburg was booked, it's a gorgeous property. If you get a chance, take a peek in their lobby and look around a bit. I've heard good things about Grape Leaf Inn, also. Cheers and enjoy the wine country! ***kim***((l))

I've stayed at the Inn on the Plaze a few times. It's charming and in a great spot for walking all around town.

Healdsburg Inn on the Plaza has been taken over by the Four Sisters Hotel group. They have done some remodeling and updating. We stayed there about four years ago and enjoyed it. Location is great.

I wouldn't doubt that Healdsburg Inn is great. Four Sisters properties are fantastic and it just opened. (We've stayed at the Sonoma one and one in San Fran - which is no more). I wouldn't hesitate to stay there and it's in a great location.
I'll also be at Grape Leaf Inn on Thurs nite! (Thurs to Sunday). Arriving around 4-5 pm as well. Have a safe flight! |

poor thing, sorry about your stay. Loved the Grape Leaf, but for the second day, I would do the Inn or I would venture to another town in Sonoma valley for extra time in wine country. Definitely need a few days there! There is also a Beest Western at the edge of town that's pretty nice- hey, maybe no charm, but I'd rather be at a BW in Healdsburg than at a Hyatt in Florida, LOL!
