heading north with dogs from sarasota to pa

we are in Florida until march 8. currently in Sarasota. we will slowly head north taking at least a week to do so. can anyone suggest a hotel that is ok with small dogs in a nice area as we head north through Florida?. I looked at pass a grill, but no pet motel there, I would rather not be in a big bustling city, and would like to be near gulf. thanks

La Quinta and Super 8 are chains that generally allow dogs, and there are both in Clearwater, though not I think in Clearwater Beach. Also most Radissons allow dogs. Most Marriotts and Hiltons (and their sub-brands) do not, but I think that's slowly changing, especially for Marriott.

The Don CeSar allows dogs in some rooms, but I suspect they'll have a HUGE surcharge. But it might be worth investigating.

You know, it would be nice and might actually facilitate some responses if you would be kind enough to tell us what your upper level budget limit actually is, Maribethp, as opposed to waiting and then responding with "a bit more than we can spend."
