Ok, leah, now you've peaked my curiousity... howabout Black Mtn. restaurants... what would be your fav? Or at least close enough that we wouldn't have to drive 1/2 hour to a restaurant?

Ok - Black Mtn is a small town but there are a few restaurants. Please keep in mind that I mostly go there during the day time for work lunches with only a few exceptions.
French Quarter - has Louisiana type food, po'boys, gumbo etc
Veranda - great soups and sandwiches
Pizza place - I think it's My Brothers
Red Rocker Inn - southern comfort food
Berliner Kindl - pretty darn close to Bavarian food (takes last seatings at 7:45pm)
There's also a coffee/lunch place diagonally across from Berliner Kindl - small, can't think of the name but they have really good lunches as well.
There's also Highland Grill which isn't too far from Black Mtn and does a lot of advertising though I haven't heard any reports on it yet.
Make sure you make it down to Asheville at least once. LOTS of great restaurants there.

Thanks for the info leah! >< The innkeeper at Arbor House just sent me a huge package with the Rapid River Art magazine, Black Mtn. Tour Guide, and Fun Things To Do... this looks like a great area to play and explore. We are really looking forward to it. Thanks again.

Yeah... definitely will write a trip report. The B&B looks wonderful, so I'm excited to stay there... they just opened in April, so they're offering discounts for multiple room bookings and such to build up a referral base.
I'll post here and also tripadvisor.com
Thanks again for all your help.
