Hawthorn Suites Naples

We are two families living in Sweden planning a trip to Naples. We intend to play a lot of golf, but we do not nessesarily have to stay close to a golf course. We have checked the Green Links, but that is too expensive. We do want to stay in a suite with kitchen unit. One option is the Park Shore Suites, which seem to be very nice, another is Hawthorn Suites. Could anyone please help us to make a choice. Hawthorn is half the price of Park Shore.

Hawthorn Suites cater to families. They are generally clean with a helpful, overworked staff. The breakfast can sometimes turn into a 3-ring circus with all the kids. The breakfast is not up to Swedish standards so you might want to skip it or lower your expectations.

Hawthorn Suites is way out by the Interstate east of Naples on Pine Ridge Road. That is notoriously the most traffic laden area in Naples, especially in season. It's quite new, and to be honest you may get a nicer room than you'll get at Park Shor Suites, which is quite a bit owner, individually owned units, and what you get is purely a matter of luck -- some are pretty tacky. On the other hand if you want to be nearer to the center of Naples, more restaurants and shops, and closer to the beach -- Park Shore Suites has a much better location.
Do you have any idea where you will be playing golf? There are very few public courses. If you've checked this out and know where you'll be playing most of your golf, repost and I'll try to help you out more with location. Also when are you coming?

You may want to try the Bonita Springs -- Hyatt Regency Coconut Point they may give you a time share deal to view the Property and free round of golf its 5- 10 miles from Naples depending on what area of Naples .

Thank you so much! It seems as Park Shore will be the best choise. Patrick, I really appreciate that you informed about that there are few public golf courses. I did not know that. We are planning to be in Naples two weeks during Christmas - start planning early as we are using milage for the air tickets and then we have to book long ahead. We love Florida and we love golf, but have never been in Naples. Last year we visited Tampa and played a lot of golf there. There were plenty of very nice courses around. Do you think there will be a problem finding public couses around Naples? Do you know if they are very expensive? We are so much looking forward to visit Naples, but we do not want to pay more than say 70 USD p p for golf. Do you think that will be possible?
