Hawaiian airfare advise

When do airlines traditionally lower their airfares for Hawaii? Is Sept/Oct considered a low season? Does anyone have any advise for finding the lowest fares from the midwest? I am finding fares of $615-$783 for non-refundable tickets--is this the best thats out there now?!

End of October, beginning of November is generally lowest season. No one can give you an opinion about your fare unless you give the departure/arrival cities. That would be a terrible fare from Oakland to Maui, for example.

The best time to go to Hawaii is when the kids are in school.

There are usually fare sales in November/December for travel in January/February. There were some good deals this year. Like $300 roundtrips from the west coast. That is certainly not the norm.

From now until the end of Mar for under $450 pp from Omaha but of course the daughter is a teacher and wants to get married in June.

Last year we flew from Nashville to Honolulu around the first of September. We purchased the tickets in May for about $680 tickets. Around July they dropped the prices to $500. We're considering another visit this fall. Based on fare sales we've been seeing for spring travel we're going to wait this time. Who knows??? You might want to consider going to kayak.com and setting up a fare alert (you can do this daily or weekly) to see lowest fares from your nearest airport to whatever destinations you choose. Good luck!
