Hawaii VRBO weird/wrong?
Noticed while I was perusing Waikoloa Beach resort places: they were all listed as being in Puako, which is a tiny place 5 miles down the road (and rentals there are $$$$ stand-alone properties, not condos). Seemed a very odd choice for location, nothing to do with the USPS addresses. Guess another way VRBO is messing up? Anyway, caveat emptor, and know what you are looking for.

I..LOVE Puako...it's where I want to move when we win the lottery! Quiet, calm...home of the $1.2 million dollar teardown shed...er, cottage.
Wondering if this is a zipcode issue? Without knowing, one would think Waikoloa would have their own zipcode...but maybe not? Maybe as the first development in the area, Puako gets the honor? |
Puako is too small to even have its zip code or name listed by the USPS>
Must be just the ones you were looking at, others are listed in Waikoloa, like this one https://www.vrbo.com/447811 |
I think that Puake was an incorporated community far earlier then Waikoloa and they are in the same district. Not unlike Lahaina vs Kaanapali on Maui. It can be confusing.
Yes vrbo is messing up. The minions never heard " if it aint broke don't fix it" |
Christina, that condo is located in Waikoloa village, not Waikoloa Beach Resort (10 miles apart). (That "ocean view" listed in that condo description is also from 10 miles away!)
The vast majority of condos in that area are in the Waikoloa Beach Resort (not Puako or the Village). |
