Hawaii Trip report pt 2
Maui-Here we stayed at the Renaissance Wailea. I have to say, I was very disappointed with the staff at this hotel. We talked with other couples, and they all had complaints as well. The hotel itself was very nice. The rooms were very spacious and well appointed, but next time I would stay elsewhere. Our first night here we ate at Antonio’s in Kihei. This was really authentic Italian. The food was very good and I would go back again. The next day we packed a picnic lunch and headed off to the road to Hana. This is a must at least one time in your life. We had the Ultimate Maui guidebook and headed out. This was the only day it rained on our vacation. With the guidebook we found a lot of hidden waterfalls that no one else knew about (except for one couple ahead of us who had the same book). We got some really great pictures and had a lot of fun. We went all the way around, the roads are paved so we didn’t have any problems. That night we had dinner at KKO in Kihei, which was OK, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to find it again. The next day we relaxed at the pool and went snorkeling at the beach. They had some rocks in front, which made for good fish watching. That night we went to the Old Lahaina Luau. This was a great show and the food was good. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about Hawaiian tradition. Make your reservations before you leave! The next day we went to Maui Bakery for breakfast and get lunch provisions. Defiantly find this place! Everything we tried was fabulous. We then headed for the Haklea Crater. My husband biked down the spine-called Summit Road. I than went back down the crater and up the Kola Forest Preserve to pick him up. He loved it. That night we went to dinner at The Maalaea Waterfront. This was our favorite restaurant on the island. I would defiantly recommend this to everyone! But beware-our drink bill was almost as much as our food bill! The next day we went to a couple of different beaches, all we really nice, but the seas were kind of rough. That night we went to dinner at Lahaina Fish Co. The food was excellent here and I would go back again. That night we went to see a magic show at Warren and Annabelle’s. This was a great show! We were so amazed at the things Warren did! I highly recommend this to anyone who has the time. The only thing I didn’t like was that they serve drinks, appetizers, and dessert for the first hour. I would have rather skipped that and gone right to the show. Or they should make it a dinner show. On our last day in Maui I got food poisoning from Cheeseburger in Paradise. I was sick for the next 5 days. My husband and I had exactly the same type of burger, but I guess mine was bad. We had to cancel dinner that night at the Grand Wailea.
Oahu-The next morning we left for one last stop before heading home. We tried to change our flights, but there was nothing earlier. We went to the Arizona Memorial, which my husband enjoyed, I was still too sick to move much. That afternoon we headed back to the mainland.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to email me direct or post a message.
