Hawaii travel agency that's great at finding low fares?
 

Usually I find the best fares to any destination on my own online, but it seems a good Hawaii specialist travel agent may be my best bet for finding cheap airfare. Can anyone recommend an agency?

I would just go to Expedia, Orbitz, etc., plug in my desired dates, and see what they come up with. Then I wouldn't use them ... I'd call the airlines on my own. I really don't think a travel agent can beat what you can do yourself these days. :)

I've never seen a packaged deal from a travel agency that beats what I get myself with Hawaiian Air.

Plus the TA packages are always too short a time (4-5 days), based on double-occupancy (I'm single), in a hotel I don't want to stay at, and with a rental car that I don't need! I do use Expedia to research who's flying my route, then call the airlines and book direct. I pick my hotel with the help of previous visits, Trip Advisor and Fodor's forums, and call or email them directly. I've got 10 days booked this week in Waikiki - air, hotel, RT airport transfers, all taxes in for $979.

Blue Sky Tours http://www.blueskytours.com/ is worth checking out. They work only through travel agents, and you can find an agent in your area by inputting your zip code. Have used them for just the airfare, and for the works. It doesn't cost anything to talk to the agent and see what they can find for you :-)

Try www.redcarpetworldtravel.com , we weren't planning on going to Hawaii but they had a special so we are now going on 11-7-09.

I usually make our reservations myself, but this time we used Red Carpet because I saw an advertisement of theirs.

Have used greathawaiivacations.com in the past. Once was for a two island trip, with interisland air, staying at three different condos, with a rental car on each island. (Used miles for mainland flight.) I checked all the prices myself and then ended up booking everything thru them as their total price was close to mine - and so much easier to just have them book everything and send me the paperwork.
