Hawaii Superferry

Just saw the news about the Superferry maybe leaving Hawaiian waters at least for awhile according to the story on KITV Honolulu.

Looks like the human chain plan is off for our next visit.

Superferry killed itself by not submitting an environmental assessment.

They thought they could skirt the requirement with sweetheart deals.

Superferry would never have been profitable with rates like $39 each way.

They would have had to jack up their rates to $100 or so to make a profit.

And in jacking up the fares, they would have lost passengers so they would never have made a profit.

How many whales were saved because Superferry no longer travels at 40mph in a whale zone?

How many invasive plants did not get to another island because Superferry quit operations?

Do not know of any easy or inexpensive means of getting a vehicle from one island to another, sorry! Used Pasha Hawaii to get a car from Oahu to San Diego, but it was pretty expensive (the silent auction SALE price $500).

Young Brothers will ship your car interisland for about $200-$300, depending on the weight.
