hawaii - scuba diving

We got scuba info right on the street in front of the Outrigger.(Near International Marketplace)Waikiki It is everywhere! My husband and son felt the scuba was the high point of the trip. They went in the summer. I would think it is year round though. Try doing a text search for scuba. There has been lots of discussion about locations on the board. You might get more specific info by searching on the web. If you want a good deal I think the brochures at the hotels/and/or on the street are the best bet.We chose a smaller outfit for a better deal.

Best diving is in Kona on the Big Island and in Maui. Most of the other places have extremely strong currents and therefore can be very cloudy diving at times.

I have only been to Maui for scuba diving. The water in Oct. will be a little cooler(low to mid 70s)The southwest coast offers several places where you can do some great shore dives( much cheaper than boat dives). The area from south Kihei to below Makena has some wonderful places to dive. Tanks can be rented easily.
