Hawaii or Islands beginining of October

Considering a trip to hawaii and surrounding area sept 25- oct 4. I hear the weather will be hot and humid. Is that also a rainy season. Also have opportunity to go in February. Which would be better?

Feb is usually nicer weather because there won't be the humidity or rain. October usually startes to cool down so it won't be as bad as now. (end of August always seems the worse for me) Rainy season is more in the summer.

I quote from Frommer's The Big Island of Hawaii. "The off-season, when the best bargain rates are available and the islands are less crowded, are spring (from mid-April to mid-June) and fall (from September to mid-December)--a paradox, since these are the best seasons to be in Hawaii, in terms of reliably great weather. There's a dry season that corresponds to summer, and a rainy season in winter from November to March."
