Hawaii or bust...
 

I like this forum, however, I feel that unless you have a Vegas or Hawaii question, the posting does not get a lot of attention.

So, I do agree with the poster that says that there should be just a Hawaii board.

Please don't misunderstand....I like the forum and have used it a lot to help me plan my trips to various destination. I also like the fact that I can "chat" with other posters. I like hearing about their travels as I can "travel vicariously" through them.

I just feel that there are a lot of other topics besides Hawaii and Vegas that get ignored.

Well I don't know. Questions about Seattle and the Pacific Northwest tend to get answered. I hear what you are saying though. Hawaii posts tend to get a bit more attention - maybe because it's the dead of winter and Hawaii is WARM.

Or maybe it's just because a lot of people have been to Hawaii and Vegas so they have information to contribute. I don't see how separating Hawaii into it's own forum would increase the number of posts about Chicago.

I'm a little slow today, so please help me understand. You're one of those people annoyed by all the Hawaii posts so you started a new Hawaii post so there'd be one more? Is that right?

I am not annoyed by the hawaii posts. It just seems like they get the most attention. Not that they shouldn't get attention, but there are other travel topics to discuss.

How do Hawaii posts keep people from answering posts about other places? The threads are there, if people want to answer them, they will. If topics get ignored it's usually because not many people have a good answer to give. I don't understand what the problem is.

If you aren't interested in a thread, just don't click on it. I don't understand why that is a problem ...... because it's THAT simple. (I don't have any problem watching posts that bore me just scroll on by! :-d ) The reason that there are so many Hawaii posts, of course, is that so many people have visited and loved it, and many more WANT to visit to see if they love it; hence, many more posts about it than most destinations. (Of course, I NEVER get tired of posts about Hawaii! ;;) )

Duh... Hawaii posts get more attention because more people go on vacation there then to Fargo North Dakota, for example. So there are more questions being asked & answered.

What exactly is the complaint or the mystery here?

I never ignore anything that I have knowledge of. Again... think about it... more people have vacationed in Hawaii and Vegas. We're not holding out valuable information on you REALLY we're not!
