Hawaii inter-island transportation ?

Wanted to know what was the cheapest way (flight, ferry) to go from Honolulu to Kauai. Is there a ferry or air only? As well, which is the cheapest airline? So far, I found $138 for a round trip with Aloha, is this pretty much the best I can find?

Thanks for any input.

The only way is flying and the going rate is between $60 and $70 so it looks like you've got it.

Bellezza28:

You can also fly via Island Air:

As I recall:? slightly lower fares could be obtained by joining the Aloha Pass (FF) program, then booking with your Aloha Pass membership, suggest ((T))contacting Aloha for more info.

My husband and I found that pandaonline.com usually had cheaper interisland fares for Hawaiian Airlines than the HA web site.

No ferries for the islands yet. The last I heard was 2007.

Check out this post (Hawaii, interisland using FF miles). Great replies with really great info on using FF miles for interisland travel (Had been 5K miles per roundtrip but evidently it's increased to 10k.. but still a great deal if you happen to have miles in a FF account that you'll not likely use (we had an old NWA account that had just enough miles for 2 round trip interisland tickets on Hawaiian Airlines). I almost paid for interisland tickets myself until I learned about this option. If you have air miles to use, it's a good deal.
