Hawaii inter-island airfare war
 

Good news -- Hawaiian Air and Aloha Air have both announced inter-island price "specials". I can't remember the exact parameters of the Aloha sale, but Hawaiian is "Book by Jan 12; fly before March 9".

Hawaiian - $55 one way
Aloha - $60 one way

Thanks for posting but I am groaning because we just flew R/T from HNL to Kona at about $160 each...oh, well...Mahalo nonetheless.

Darn, I still need one segment for 5 people for August. Kauai to Maui. Should I "hang in there"?

the reason for the price war is Aloha's 60th birthday so they had $60.00 flights. Hawaiian lowered them to $55.00 and ALoha then went to $55.00. Have to fly before March 9. Unless it is HawaiianAir's 55th birthday in August, I doubt they'll lower their prices again...until the 3rd airline comes sometime in early summer
