HAWAII HOTEL PRICES GOOD THIS YEAR?
 

For those who are in the know on Hawaii, are the hotel rates better than average this year? Or are there better deals on rooms - like stay whatyever days, get a night free, etc - now?

I heard there are better deals since travel is down a little from the economy being a little slow. Is this info correct?

I am debating staying a week in Hawaii. I don't know if I want to do this now or some other time.

If this is a great time to go cost wise, or if it is a great time to get a great room at a good room rate, I will go now. And maybe travel less next year.

Decisions, decisions.

Any advice from the Hawaii savvy?

I think perusing Expedia would give you an idea of current rates. I think you need to set a budget and then see what fits.

I have looked at travelocity and expedia, so, I have an idea of what things cost this season.

The delimna is, I have a chance to stopover in Hawaii and I am wondering if this is a really great time to go - cost wise.

I have always wanted to go to Hawaii. I am already going to spend a lot on my holiday. So, I wonder if it is a better than average time to visit Hawaii and a great time to add the extra treat of a week in Hawaii to my holiday.

I am trying to decide whether to stay in Hawaii as cheaply as possible (if at all) or do it right since I might not get to stay anywhere posh (by my standards) if I wait a year or a few years to go.

Does this make any sense?

I am able to go. Is this a great time to go? Other than the fact that it is HAWAII!!!!

Have you considered looking at condo's and vacation rentals. vrbo.com is a good start. And have you considered one of the other islands?

I think if you keep searching there will be some good deals since occupancy is down this year. When are you thinking of going?

Sorry I am not sure as I went to Hawaii in Feb./March. But, I'll provide a piece of advice, Hawaii was very expensive even in the off-season. Just be advised.

Yes, I looked at vrbo and decided there are too many variables and I am too picky to go with that.

I like a hotel rather than possibly a single condo owner where if the room is not right or as expected, I will have a lot better chance of moving to another room rather than dealing with whatever it takes to get something fixed. Then there's the long XL policy as well as the how to pay (don't like to send a check) factor. Thanks for the idea anyway. I know lots of others really like vrbo.

That's the idea I have gotten looking online at hotel rates. Where did you stay and how did you like it?

I'm leaning toward going, staying somewhere nice with an oceanfront balcony.

Fall is a good time to go, after Labor day weekend and before Thanksgiving week when occupancy is down. That's about the time that some restaurants also have two-for-price-of-one entree specials.
