Hi beachgirl,
I enjoyed your report (Part 3)of your honeymoon, beginning with Day 7. What dates did you post Parts 1 & 2? I couldn't seem to find them and would like to read them also. Maybe I just didn't go far enough back. We are going of Ohau & Maui in March.
Hope to hear from you.
Cakelady.

Beachgirl... it's me again. Never mind, I found your Parts 1 & 2. Great report, loved reading it. Can't hardly wait till March. I've been there before, but my husband hasn't. We'll be in Ohau 5 days & 4 nights, then would like to go to Maui for 3 nights, but undecided as to where to stay. In '85 when I was there with my sis & her hubby, we stayed at Wailea. Spent 2 days in Lahaina & drove farther north, but didn't go to the Haleakala Summit or the Hana area and I think I'd like to do that on this trip. Do you know if you drive south of Wailea, can you get over to Hwy 31/37 to then go north & east to the Park Headquarters? I need to find somewhere that I can get a REALLY good map of Maui. Printed one from the internet, but it's still probably not as good as I'd like to find. Right now, we are very undecided as to which area we want to stay. Guess we could switch hotels, but that's something we don't usually do when we travel, after owning time-share for so long and get used to staying in one place for a week at a time. This trip is not a time-share trip, so we could change hotels. Anyone with advice, please reply. Thanks. Cakelady

Lasjas: Make sure you post a report when you return -- I'll have to live through you now! Driving should help on the Road to Hana, I usually don't get car sick when I am driving, but my husband was the only one on the rental car agreement, so I couldn't drive. I hope you have a great experience!
Cakelady: Makai1 is right. If you have trouble finding them, let me know and I will top them for you. I look forward to hearing about your trip too!

Cakelady: When we arrived on Maui and got our rental car from Budget, they gave us a good map that served us well over the week we were there. I would also suggest 2 guidebooks: "Hawaii for Dummies" and "Maui Revealed". Both had lots of good tips and maps that we used. Make sure to do a trip report when you return in March
