Hawaii Hilton Resort
 

We are traveling to Honolulu during their low season in 2005. We have 5 in our family which includes 3 adults. We have a free week at the hilton--but they will not allow us to have 3 adults and 2 children ages 13 and 15 in the room. The cost of $200 a night is too much to pay. Any ideas if this rule is strictly followed or noticed? We are just glad to be going to Hawaii and do not care about sleeping comfort as we will live on the beach anyway. Any opinions? I have just been having this exact coversation with the Hilton Waikoloa over the past couple of days. They say they will definitely not allow more than 4 people in the room even though some of the rooms are set up with two double beds and a sofa bed. We were intending to stay during the high season so perhaps you might have more bargaining power as you want the low season.

It sounds to me like the maximum occupancy at both of these hotels for the room type you're looking at is 4 people, max. Personally, I don't believe in trying to get around occupancy rules; they're in place for your safety.

Occupany rules are for safety?? Nothing to do with maximizing revenue and minimizing wear and tear on the room?

sometimes it has to do with fire codes and how many persons are allowed in a certain amount of space - in a huge resort, they might just have rules and regulations for how many persons they can house....
so yes, it may be legitimate reasons, not just trying to maximize revenue
