Hawaii helicopter rides

We'd like to take a helicopter ride on either Maui or Kauai, but can't decide which would be better. Any suggestions?

No competition: Kuaui. You see things from the helicopter you couldn't see otherwise: canyon, Na Pali coast, waterfalls, etc. Maui ride is nice, but nothing special. Helicopter ride also worthwhile on the Big Island--particularly if the volcano is erupting. But even if it isn't you see things like rooftops peaking out from under the lava coverage. You get a real feel for the devastation a volcano can leave in its wake.

No Brainer....Kauai is much more spectacular in all respects than Maui, especially for a helicopter ride. Mark

I would agree with Mark. Kauai is much better for a helicopter ride. I would recommend Jack Harter. They are a little more expensive but worth every penny. Make sure you plan your helicopter tour for the earlier part of your stay on Kauai in case the weather is bad and you have to reschedule. They won't hesitate to reschedule if the weather looks bad.

Another vote for Kauai. Waimea Canyon, the Na Pali coastline, and Waialeale crater are incredible to see from the air.

If you were to choose Maui, I would not recommend the "circle island tour." Nothing really that spectacular to see for the money and too much time spent seeing the same thing as you circle the island. Would rather we have chose one of the others tours instead. Also, when we went up with Sunshine Helicopter tours "Black Beauties" it was really way too cloudy to get our money's worth.
