Hawaii First Trip Questions

Hi - I am just beginning to plan our first trip to Hawaii for our 5th annivesary - thanks in advance.

1. Weather - we are thinking about traveling next March - how is the weather? Should we delay until April or May - we want to be able to do beaches and pools.

2. Which Islands? We will be going to Maui because we will be using my parents timeshare for part of the time. If we have 7-10 days, which other Island should we visit? Or should we stay on Maui the whole time?

THANKS!

For an overview of the weather on Maui for various months go to http://tinyurl.com/24kjll

If you are staying 7 days, I would just stay on Maui. If you go for 10 days, do another island. Which island depends on what your interests are.

With 7 nights stick with Maui.

With 8-10 nights you have time for 2 islands. Oahu is a good second island.

March is great on Maui as the whales will at peak season. By mid-April they start leaving.

Lots of info including sites with free brochures for all islands:

We had a great anniversary trip to Maui and I felt like we accomplished the 'Must Do' things in a week.

Lar3604: We spend two weeks in Hawaii every April. April is our choice because that's the best time of the year for my wife to take off two weeks from work. We usually stay on one island the first week and then use our timeshare in Waikiki the second week. The weather has almost always been great. We only had two bad weeks in seven years. One was a cold, rainy week in Kauai and the second was an unusually hot week on the Big Island. Even the few trips that we spend the last few days in March were nice. It's paradise. Don't worry about the weather.

Pretty much agree with everybody else so far and can only try to narrow it.

The BI gives you a chance to see an active volcano.

Oahu has many things from Pearl Harbor to Northshore and Diamond Head and the Aloha Tower.

Kauai Waimea Canyon the Napali Coast and more.
