I don't have cable either. Let's make our own dos & dont's.

Do drink the mai tais.

Don't stay in your room too much.

DO wear slippers, socks with sandals not necessary.

DO take shoes off when entering someone’s home.

DON'T speed when someone wants to merge in traffic.

DON’T get upset when ordering dinner and it takes a long time to arrive, it’s called “Hawaiian time.”

DON'T ask a local for directions, you'll regret it.

DON'T ask a local if they're a "real" Hawaiian.

DON’T swim at the beach after dark.

DO say aloha for hello and/or goodbye.

DO eat poi with your fingers.

DON'T make a face if trying poi for the first time and hate it.

DO wear swimsuits only at the beach or pool.

DON'T tell a local how things are done in the mainland, we don't care.

DO buy sunscreen and use it. It is not a tan if one is red as a lobster.

most important - DO relax, enjoy your vacation.

mahalo for the morning laugh k-aka!

veddy good list!

Don't turn your back on the ocean

Do respect the power of the ocean

Don't ignore trespassing signs

Do respect the privacy of others

Don't leave a single thing behind - nothing irks me more than hiking a few miles in paradise to be greeted by starbuck cups, cigg buts and cola cans cast aside

Don't use the beach as an ashtray

Do support local fundraiser luas

Do support local farmers and artisans at farmers markets

I thought the TC did a great job. I have never been to Hawaii, but I'm really considering it. My in laws went about 10 years ago and still talk about it. And I can't believe the deals going on right now for Hawaii.

I think the most important Don't.....

Don't turn your back on the ocean.
