Hawaii dining questions

We are going to Hawaii in early April. I know that is a busy time (Easter Break)and thought maybe I should make a couple of reservations prior to going.
Has anyone eaten at the Golden Dragon at the Hilton Hawaiian Village? It is one of their premier restaurants. We are staying there. I thought my kids (11 and 13) would enjoy this more than Bali by the Sea. I would like to take them to one nice restaurant.
We are going to a Luau. I have booked that already.
We will eat mostly casual because I can't predict how well everyone will adjust to the time changes and we also plan to have busy days. My 11 year old will get droopy if we try to over-do it.
I have also looked at the idea of going to the Magic show (John K?). Any comments on this one?

John Hirokawa's Magic of Polynesia is one of the better Waikiki shows. They combine magic with some Polynesian dancing.

Last year's Entertainment Book had a two for one "cocktail show" for Magic of Polynesia.

Most Waikiki shows offer cocktail only for those who don't want the dinner with the show. Same show, you get seated after the others have eaten.

Look for other coupons for the show in the free brochures.

I like Duke's and Tiki's. Not the best restaurants in Waikiki, but decent and not as expensive as others.

Oceanarium in Pacific Beach Hotel has a huge aquarium.

Top of Waikiki is a revolving restaurant. Near International Market Place.

Sarento's Top of the I at Ilikai Hotel

Lots of coupons in Entertainment Book and the free brochures.

Also look for early bird specials.

My ten-year-old grandson adored Cheeseburgers in Paradise. He chose the five-napkin burger but wishes he had checked out the ten-napkin version.

Are you going to have a car?? Zippy's is a great family place to eat.

We will have a car for three days of our trip. We aren't going to have one the whole time.

Anyone been to the Golden Dragon at HHV?

We went to a banquet at the Golden Dragon, and the food was terrific.

I have been several times. It is a very formal Chinese restaurant. Excellent food, quite expensive for Chinese, but very nice ambiance.

Thanks for responding. I have read some mixed reviews. I was thinking of going to one of the very nice restaurants on property (HHV) with the kids. The Golden Dragon will have something that they can eat. It also offers a view of the sunset on the beach. The Bali By the Sea, we went there many years ago, has food that is a little too fancy for my kids. Expensive? About how much for a couple without wine? Maybe one or two drinks. It doesn't give the menu on the interenet. It only gives the Bali menu. I like to take the girls to one nice place while on vacation. I think it is a good experience for them. (I enjoy the better food too!!)

Oh and the kids are not that young!
