Hawaii/December/Hotels?

Hello
I am new to this so please be kind!
I am now down to 3 hotels....
Four Seasons Big Island
Hotel Hana Maui
and
Turtle Bay Resort
I would love to hear from someone that has visited these hotels recently...
Thank you in advance
We are traveling First 10 days of December

carpis, I'm not a Hawaii expert BUT, the first 12-14 days of December are the slowest travel time of the year everywhere with the exception Holiday destinations like NYC. That said, I would book a cancelable backup and watch the rates at your dream hotel like a hawk. You will be able to find rates up to 70% off peak rates.

Hope this helps.

The Four Seasons is easily the best hotel on your list.
And the rates don't drop much at all during slow periods at this hotel because it sells out with such regularity.
The Hotel Hana is really, really secluded and quiet and unless you're considering a second career as a monk, I can't imagine what someone would do there for 10 days.
The FS BI has been rated the #1 hotel in the USA on several occasions. It's not for everyone, though. Its beach isn't as nice as places like the Four Seasons Maui, for example. And it's secluded as well. On the other hand, there's so much to see and do on the Big Island I think that compensates nicely for people who need available activities to make a trip complete.
No restaurants close by the FS. You must have a car.

Four Seasons is the nicest. I like the location of Turtle Bay.

Hi Carpis,
We just got back from the Fairmont Orchid on the Big Island. I know it's not on your list, but it's worth looking into - an absolutely fantastic place to be! We visitied Four Seasons while we were there and we felt the beauty, facility, dining options were comparable. Good luck and have a great stay!

We stayed at the Fairmont Kea Lani on our honeymoon last October and absolutely loved it! Every room is a suite so you truly get more for your money than at the Four Seasons (which is right next door). They pamper you just as much as they do at the Four Seasons (pinneapple by the pool, bring around cool towels, etc.) I highly recommend it!
