Hawaii Car Rental Tax
Our travel package to Honolulu inlcudes airfare and car rental however, we are responsible for the tax when we pick up the car at the HNL airport. Any idea how much this will set us back or should I check with our travel agent?

Actually Rusty, consumer reports noted a while back that car rental taxes and surcharges can range from 8% to 72% of the base rental.
Not such a small amount in some cities, especially if you'll be keeping the car for any length of time!

Yes Icuy, TAXES AND SURCHARGES can add up to that but the questions was about taxes, not surcharges.
Here Today, my recent rental charges also included FFTXRSU ($0.05 for a 10 day rental). It appears that it is some kind of tax or charge on frequent flyer points awarded, although I was not awarded any frequent flyer miles. Do you know anything about this?
