Hawaii and Kauai
My husband and I are visiting Kuai mid March 09- read that it rains alot- what is your experience. Never been to Hawaii- thinking of going to Kaui too. Have about 10 days.
Like checking out beautiful scenery via driving, easy hikes- - is this the best chocie for a 2nd stop if not what do you recomend. What hotels do you recommend- we are swimmers- like small to moderate size hotels with could pools, great views. Marlene |
"Never been to Hawaii- thinking of going to Kaui too."
Do you mean the state Hawaii? Or the island Hawaii (Big Island)? You do have time for 2 islands. Kauai is a good choice, as is Oahu, Big Island or Maui for the second island. Lots of info including sites with free brochures for all islands: http://fodors.com/forums/threadselec...p;tid=34812564 |
Do you know how I travel from Kaui to Lanai or vice versa- checked Fodors- sounds like have to go to HOnolulu to get to get either- no direct flight between. Am I correct- any ferries.

Kaua`i is a beautiful island and regions Mt Wai`ale`ale) are among the wettest on earth: http://tinyurl.com/5tat7w
When visiting in March we usually have been able to find a ((#))((H)) spot near Poipu, despite ((R))((R)) in other regions. Since you mentioned an interest in visiting Lana`i by ferry, would suggest visiting Maui as a trip to Lana`i can be made daily and if taken in March, doubles as a whalewatch.:S- |
We were in Kauai in late April and had spectalar weather. We stayed in Lihue at the Kauai Marriot resort and fell in love with the property and all of its amenities. You'll like it so much, you won't want to leave! Have fun!
