my husband and I want to take a roamntic trip - somewhere small,private,a plunge pool would be nice, good food, right on the beach. We don't know anything about Hawaii - any suggestions on where to stay? Any other island to suggest? We are going in October for a week......HELP!!!!

Lots of places to stay in Hawaii--though the resorts tend to be large. How about a cottage? You would have to drive to restaurants but would have much more privacy. Suggest you use your favorite search engine and put in something like "luxury beach cottage hawaii" or whatever describes what you want. I did that and came up with these two to start, both on Kauai north shore. (Though comparable options probably exist on all the main islands)

Small, private with a plunge pool could be very expensive.

Right on the beach? And with your own private pool? That will narrow down the possibilities quiet a bit. Is cost not a consideration?

(You do know that Hawaii is a number of different islands not just one, right?)
