Hawaii

I am traveling to two of the Hawaiian Islands in June, Kauai and Oahu. Please advise me on must do things. Please tell me on things to avoid. Where to eat, Where to find a good less crowded beach. What is a good helicopter tour of Kauai. Do you recomend any of the hikes to the canyon and waterfalls in Kauai. How about snorkling in Kauai. Thanks for any information that you can give me.

If I could be so bold as to recommend you fine tune your request. It is way too broad and many like myself might not know where to begin. A good suggestion for starters...grab a couple travel guides and do some preliminary reading as well. Good luck!

I have read several guide books and looked at several things on the Internet. I want to know is the Hollywood Tour worth it?? It a day long boat tour interesting. Do you book snorkeling with a group or is just as good to rent your gear and go on your own. How about the helicopter tours, would you recommend them, did you do them.
WHAT is the Hollywood Tour? Hmm. I would agree with the last poster, those are usually the best things on each island for tourists. Is the Fern Grotto tour still in existence? I went with some out-of-town relatives once, they thought it was beautiful but I thought it was a total rip off.

Waimea Falls Park on the North Shore of Oahu is a good place to spend a day. You can go to the beach across the street at Waimea Bay, very uncrowded but limited parking.

In Oahu, make sure you try some shaved ice. A lifesaver on a hot tropical afternoon. Also, the best meal I had in Oahu was at Cheeseburger in Paradise. Rent a car and drive along the perimeter of the island and cut across the middle to see the pineapple fields. Hike to the top of Diamond Head.

FYI--do yourself a favor and buy a Frommer's or Fodor's book on the islands you're going to--you won't go wrong on anything in there. Have fun

Avoid Hawaii. Avoid Hawaiin foods, Hawaiin drinks, ESPECIALLY avoid other Hawaiian travel agents. Go somewhere else ( Like another Travel Forum ). Die soon.
