Hawai

I am looking to go to Kihei, Maui in Nov-09 with Mother-In-Law and Sister-In-Law. We are looking for a nice place clean Kitchen, close to town, walking distance if possible. Looking for a 3 star or higher. Has anyone out there gone from Edmonton Alberta Canada or somewhere here in the West, that can suggest a good place to find a package deal? Flight and Hotel, or condo? Any advice would be much appreciated.

You will also want a rental car in your package

Give vrbo a try. We always use them while going to Kauai. It's nice to be able to pick out your location yourself vs. getting put "where ever" in a condo complex. We've always been happy with Outrigger run properties.
Also since you are going to Maui you might want to start a new topic with Maui in your header.

Have you been to Kihei before? If so, you know that there is really not a "town" center. There are several strip malls that have a nice variety of shops and restaurants, however, and it is easy to find a condo near one of those. What is your approximate price range? I love Kihei and go once or twice a year. I can recommend several places in various price ranges. Is oceanfront a priority? It costs more, but if this is a first-time trip it might be worth it!

If you can afford it, there are much nicer places to stay than Kihei

I agree with Placename.

We live in Calgary, and we stayed in Kihei last year at a VRBO. Really nice place, are trying a diffrent VRBO this year. Westjet has a seat sale on right now. I found it cheaper to book everything seperatly. Orbitz is a good place to start though. While I agree with Placename, and montereybob that there are nicer places to stay, you also pay for the "nice", and if you are renting a car anyways, Kihei is very central to everything.
