Gail-good idea. Missypie-I think you should go and make up your own mind. I do believe your kids will enjoy it-no question.

Just saw Blue Man Group in Vegas last week. We are a group of 4 - 2 boys ages 12 & 13 and parents in mid-forties. Our 13 yr old is a drummer - if you live with one, you know what I mean. The boy drums in his sleep! I was a bit worried when we realized they had a bowl full of earplugs in the lobby. I fully expected to leave with a pounding headache. I didn't. We sat in the balcony. That was fine. We had a view of the entire stage, anything we couldn't see, we projected on a giant screen. Now for the show, it is indescribable. We enjoyed it. We are glad we went, but do think the cost was a bit much. My boys loved it. Our drummer was on the edge of his seat the entire time with a huge grin on his face. They couldn't pick just one part of the show that was their favorite. They enjoyed the whole thing.

As an avid theatre goer, Blue Man Group is one show I'd never seen. In fact I've purposely avoided it for years. This year on a Sunday afternoon in London we went -- there was no other option and tickets were half price so why not?

I was pleasantly surprised. Some of it was just downright silly, but there was far less just standing there throwing paint than I had suspected. Some was downright clever. And by the end when we were all passing miles and miles of toilet paper over our heads to get it all on the stage, I don't think there were very many holdout grudges.

By the way, I'm two years from Social Security.

I haven't seen it, but my 82 y.o Dad and his 78 y.o girlfriend just returned from a trip to NYC. they both loved it! They saw about 4 shows, and it was my dad's favorite.

We got free tickets to the show in Orland, I would not have gone otherwise. I found parts of the show very good, some so-so, and other parts boring. I think it is a cult type thing. I still do not "get" the toilet paper thing. Does anyone know?

I saw it with a company group of people of all ages. Most - including some people over 60 loved it. I was underwhelmed - but wouldn;t call it migraine-inducing - just tedious after a while.

(But then I hate those folk-dancing troups after about 3 songs too. - not professional shows live Riverdance - which was brilliant - but the real basic folk-dancing - in Russia, Germany and Mexico.)

I'm 45 and I saw them in Chicago about 4 years ago and I couldn't WAIT UNTIL IT ENDED! Screaming meemies is a great description of how I felt, too. And I attend a lot of contemporary theatre.

Man, what a wide range of opinions. We (parents 47 and 42, kids 17 and 14) saw them last month in Chicago and thought it was great. We had seats in the seventh row and brought ear plugs, but didn't need them. It really is different. Some music, some comedy, a few small stunts, audiance participation. I would guess that the ones that don't like them had never seen them on TV and didn't know what they were getting into.

Just saw last night in Orlando-friend had free tix. (poncho section tix are $69 pp plus tax FYI)

I went because it was free but was not thrilled about seeing it. The custom theater is small but from the back it's hard to read some small writing the put up...
Overall it was better than I thought it would be, but I have MAJOR (clown) audience participation phobia, so I was sweating it everything they came through the audience, which was frequent.
The 4 band members up top were EXCELLENT, it was rockin', very cool...the boring paint/drum scenes were very short.
It was one of those shows where even though you assumed and planned on not liking it you couldn't help but smile anyway. I laughed out loud alot.
This particular show would be good for younger people, meaning I don't think my 80 year old grandmother could keep up. Some could maybe.
The paper at the end is fun, but lasts a little too long I thought.
But I was walking out with a smile and was impressed by the creativity and enthusiasm. For all the negativity in the world, this show is a great diversion of forceful fun.

We are over 40, saw BMG in Vegas and have no regrets. DO take a package or 2 of the free ear plugs just in case, they were in a big bowl on the counter... I was so afraid I'd get a headache and have a terrible time. We actually had a blast and there were things, little things really when I think about it, that had me laughing until I cried.

If you're young at heart I think you'll appreciate the show.

My husband and I saw BMG in Las Vegas and were really sorry that we spent $$ on the tickets. It was developed by someone with an oral fixation and involves a lot of spitting out of the mouth of stuff...teenagers would love it as would younger children. We hated it and would not recommmend it to anyone over 18 years of age.
