Met Robert Goulet and his lovely wife in a bar # New York Palace late one night with no one in the bar but the two of them and my wife. We closed the bar down talking about his life and life in Mississippi. He sent a color autographed pictured to our room. We were there to see Camelot and he was King Arthur.

Others we have seen/met/spoken to in NYC were Ray Charles, Anthony Quinn and Charles Bronson were at The Plaza Athenee in NYC.

We ran into Ivana Trump in Davidoff Cigar Store in NYC and Whoopi Goldberg on Madison Ave. shopping.

We sat next to Joe Montana at lunch in Napa in CA and sat next to Troy Aikman at Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas.

We met Michael Nourie (SP?) who played in Victor Victoria with Julie Andrews after the play at dinner at Cafe Des Artiste in NYC one night. I read an article about him in a travel magazine saying he liked Cuban Cigars. I gave him one that night which must have opened a door. We saw him walking down Central Park West a few months later and stopped to visit. He invited us backstage after his play to meet Julie Andrews.

Archie Manning is a good friend of mine and I get to see his two sons, Peyton and Eli quite often.

Seems like a few more but I can't remember any right now.

In the middle 80's at my brother's HS graduation, Richard Gere was there (his sister was also grauduating)I felt to bad for the kids who were graduating because everyone in the crowd kept looking around for Richard Gere and not at the ceremony. But after the ceremony, he was walking through the HS parking lot and my hubby and I drove up next to him and said hello. He was nice and said hello back.

I saw Josh Holloway (LOST) at Waimea Beach on Thanksgiving Day 2005. He was with his wife. Then we saw him a few days later at the hanger for the LOST stuff.

wow -

Did not "jump all over" anyone - just pointed out a simple error - or perhaps typo. If one doesn;t mention errors how is anyone to learn?

And answered the question - which I note you did not.

Just FYI there is a long thread, almost exact title from last year, if you do a search, you may be able to pull it up.

Loads of times.

Most recently in February on Rodeo Drive I got a lovely smile from Angelica Huston as she came out of a shop looking even more beautiful in person than on screen.

In my previous life when I was in Palm Beach with my ex-husband a lady rushed up to him and gushed, "Oh, Tom! Tom Selleck! I just LOVED your last movie!" It took a bit of stumbling on his part but finally he graciously thanked her for her kind words, dove into his car and we drove away. My ex has escaped to Hawaii so you can look for him there.

Speaking of Donald Sutherland, I once saw him pushing his own luggage at an Amerisuites in Topeka, KS. Rumor had it he was visiting Kiefer who was, at the time, a patient at the Menninger Clinic.

Conan O'Brien (Late Show) and Phil Jackson (LA Laker's Coach) were in the Kalispell, MT airport and flew on same plan as we did from Kalispell to Minneapolis. Conan was a complete snob, Phil Jackson talked with me about basketball. Phil was great!

I had the same reaction to Conan O'Brien when I bumped into him on Columbus Avenue in NYC, but I laugh at his jokes anyway.

I ran arcoss Trista and
Brian from the "Bachelor" in Seattle, where we walked for just an hour on our trip to BC.

They didn't look romantic at all, he was slowly following her, no holding hands, just a couple of months after their multimillion $$$ wedding. But it was very hot that day.

I grew up in NJ and my mom pulled me out of school each year for a day in NY City shopping together before Christmas. We were in FAO Schwartz and I spotted Timothy Hutton. We were both teenagers at the time.(Timothy Hutton and me) He was a few years older I think? Anyway, I pointed him out to my Mom who quickly replied, "This is NY, you are not supposed to acknowledge celebrities." Five minutes later she spots John Denver and screams "OH my God, It's John Denver!!!" He graciously waved to my mom who almost fainted. I don't even think she listened to his music. It was someone more her age that was famous I guess!
Her and I still laugh about that today.

Last year in New Orleans my husband, brother and sister-in-law went to the Windsor Court Hotel for dessert and coffee on a Friday evening of the Jazz Festival weekend. Also enjoying the delicious desserts was James Taylor, who was a headliner at the Jazz Festival the next day. As he was leaving the restaurant I asked him if he would say hello to my sister-in-law, who happens to be his biggest fan in the world, and he very graciously spent about five minutes talking with us. We thoroughly enjoyed his performance the following afternoon - and my sister-in-law kept trying to get closer to the stage - until I pointed out to her that she would never get as close as she had been the previous evening.

I've seen tons of celebrities but my favorite encounter was at Sephora a couple of years ago.

I was standing at the Sephora brand lipstick display in the Sephora in Times Square talking with this short sort of grungy messy girl about red lipstick for about 20 minutes. We both left and Mr. GoTravel informed me I had just spent the last 20 minutes talking to Drew Barrymore.

My other favorite is Mr.GoTravel's encounter with Kristen Davis in Charleston. He thought she was a former waitress of his.
