Have you ever heard of a place called Page, Arz?
We are looking to stop in Page this summer and are trying to figure out which tour would offer the most value for the money. If it were more affordable, we'd take the kayak/camping trip on Lake Powell . . . any other alternatives (water activities only) for someone who is cost-conscious?
1) Are there boat/raft/kayak tours that go around Horseshoe Bend?
2) Are the self-rented kayak's worth the hassle of transporting and doing everything on your own?
3) How are the boat tours?
4) Just began researching, but on the surface, we'd like to see narrow, slot canyons from the water.
Thanks in advance!
For those who have seen other posts of mine . . . we are still going to Yellowstone but via the southerly route.

Rather than searching Page ,AZ (which it the correct abbreviation for the state of Arizona) try searching Lake Powell.

We took a half day smooth water raft trip from Page to Lee's ferry with Raft the River a few years ago. It went around Horseshoe bend and stopped along the way at a place where there were petroglyphs on the rock at the edge of the river. You meet the raft people in Page and they take you on a road cut into the side rock down to just below the Dam, an interesting trip itself.
There are other trips that leave from Page area and go into Lake Meade. Do drive over to Antelope Canyon and take the tour with a Navajo guide, just drive to the parking lot and sign up. The pictures of our trip there are at

in the 2008 set if you care to see what it looks like.

I think they have a different name but you can see their site at

The trip we took is described about half way down the page on the left.
We loved the trip, but it is not a whitewater trip, very calm, we had a cute girl for our guide and she was great.
