Tat, My family and I flew them to Punta Cana a year ago this past summer through Apple Vacations. I didnt' know what to expect from a charter as we have a tendancy to avoid them and opt for scheduled air. We were thrilled! The plane was 6 months old, staff was friendly, really got you through check-in quickly. Because it was a charter and all passengers were there and processed through we were able to depart earlier than scheduled. I would definately fly them again.

Yeah,
they sound good too.

Thanks

The airline started as a charter only. Now they are getting into semi-regular schedules from the east coast and midwest to Florida and Mexico during the winter season up north(Sep-Apr) They may have some regular summer schedules, but I believe it's mostly charters in the summer. They use new Airbuses 320 planes.

If you just need a one-time flight to a vacation destination, they're fine, and little less expensive.

The problem I have with start ups like this is the fact that in most if not all cases they only have 1 plane on any one route and they don't have any inter-line agreements with other airlines. If there is a mechanical or other problem, you are stuck at their mercy. But again, for a one-time vacationer it's a nice little start-up that will feed you and show you movies, although in tight seating.

You could make your own reservation on www.usa3000.com

I am topping this post because USA3000 will soon be flying from St. Louis to a few cities in Florida. They are currently offering very attractive fares and we are considering booking for our Christmas travel.

Has anyone else flown this airline? Should I jump at fares that are currently 50% lower than American's best deal?

AAFrequentFlyer Aug 30th, 2004 06:54 AM

If the fare is actually 1/2 less than the next available fare from any other carrier, then yes I would consider it. If the fare is $10-20 less, then I would not, for the obvious reasons stated in my earlier post above.

I also flew USA3000 to Punta Cana this summer. They were on time coming and going which is a lot more than I can say for the USAir flights I took this summer! The air bus has seats that are slighting bigger than most planes and were quite comfortable. They also SERVED MEALS on the plane!! I'd fly with them again any time.

Thanks to AAFrequentFlyer and Schmerl for their advice. I think I will forego the AA miles and save $$$ with USA3000. Now let's hope there is something left of Florida after this hurricane season ends!
