I think the Colonade Shops - the new outdoor section - is wonderful. We have a second home in Boca Raton and my wife had to beg me to take her. Turns out I loved it and we have gone back a second time. We've bought at Ferragamo, Stuart Weitzman, Barney's, and Burberry, as well as Crate & Barrel. Cole-Haan has not opened their new place yet. Others open already include David Yurman and Max Mara. We also went to Neiman's Outlet which was okay, then stepped into the enclosed mall which we did NOT care for. We are looking forward to returning next Fall when more Colonade Shops will be open. I would say it is definitely worth a trip from Ft. Lauderdale.

We love going to Worth Avenue in Palm Beach where we do more window shopping because of the high prices. We also like Town Center, especailly Saks and Bloomingdale's the mornings after Thanksgiving and Christmas when they have great sales.

Again, thanks for the responses. It helps tremendously. I think we have decided to go to the Town Center Mall in Boca. I have been to the Aventura Mall and loved it. I figured since we have not been to Boca Raton, it would be a new shopping experience. I hope Town Center mall is worth it.

I would guess 30-45 minutes from Harbor Beach Marriott to Boca Town Center. (depending on traffic..which can be at a dead stop at times...) If you decide to go further up to West Palm, it would be another 30 minutes or so north of Boca (I'm estimating here...others will know more exactly if they do the daily commute). CityPlace is lovely; definitely not a mall but its nice to have lunch & check out a few shops. Just do not stray from the area...just a few streets away is high crime..and definitely don't get any ideas of going to the "Palm Beach Mall"...if you do, be careful & do not stay after dark. If you are really willing to go further North...The Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens is very nice..upscale (Saks, Tiffany, Louis V)..definitely not outlets. And they are just opening Downtown at the Gardens adjacent to that mall. It is more of an open-air shopping/dining area. Mostly restaurants for now, but shops are opening gradually.

If you have extra time, consider driving up the coastline while heading North..(A1A?). If you have not done it, it is very pretty...lots of gorgeous homes.

Thankyou very much for the warnings. You pretty much have talked us out of West Palm. Still interested in Boca, is there any areas in Boca I should stay away from?
