Do you mean Squam Lake in New Hampshire? That's where "On Golden Pond" was filmed...

More details please. When I googled, I found an Inn on Golden Pond, the Manor on GP and the Lakehouse on GP.

What is "this beautiful place" you are referring to? The pond itself. A particular inn or guesthouse?

There is an inn called "Manor on Golden Pond". It's quite nice, and food in the restaurant is very nice also.

We haven't actually stayed on Squam Lake but can tell you the area is beautiful. There isn't any public beach and very little commercial development unlike nearby Lake Winnipesaukee. Nearby Center Sandwich is one of our favorite towns. It's a beautiful area to drive with wonderful views of nearby mountains. We like to visit this area any time of the year. Many of the private "cottages" on Squam Lake have quite a bit of land with them so there is also very little of jam-packed cottages seen on most lakes.

I've never stayed there either (Squam lake) but I've eaten at Walter's Basin and have visited the area before, it is a lovely lovely, and yes, I have a picture of me with the Texaco sign in the background ;) And Walter's Basin was a pretty decent resturant as well, it is right on the water.

I have a distant relative with a house on the lake, and have stayed a couple times. It is as scenic as the movie suggests.

I agree with capxxx, it is a beautiful place. Many years ago we stayed at our friends' cabin right on Squam Lake. Only hope it's still as undeveloped as in mid-90's. Simply beautiful in the beginning of October.
