Has anyone stayed at the Alexa Hotel in New Orleans?
We're going down for the Jazz Fest... is this a good location. Please advise.
|
Yes. Good hotel for usually a great rate. Rooms are small-ish, but nice. Great location for doing Quarter activities - 1 block from Bourbon - and only 1/2 block from Canal so you can catch the street car. Which weekend are you coming?
|
We're coming the last week of the Jazz Fest... Arriving April 28th (early morn) - leaving late afternoon on May 1st.
|
BTW... Thanks SOOO MUCH for your response! Gives me a lot of comfort with the selection.

I don't remember when I posted, but click on my name & look for the other Jazz Fest post. I posted some great bands/singers you may not have heard of to check out at JF. Kim Prevost is one of my favorites on the 28th. 29th-Tab Benoit, Nicholas Payton. 30th-Astral Project, Theresa Anderson. 31st (if time) Pete Fountain, Marcia Ball, Leah Chase.
Have fun! |
Thanks again for the recommendations... I'll definitely look out for those acts. It's my first time in New Orleans (never mind at the Jazz Fest) so any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Hey roro! I am heading down for my first fest on the 28th and leaving the 2nd of May. I have been looking at the chat threads on the main web site www.nojazzfest.com which also has a ton of info. I also considered the Alexa. They are basically connected to the Astor Crown next door and you can use the facilities. I am staying across the street from you at the Holiday Inn French Quarter on Royal! You probably got a better price than I did (paying 215.00 night), but I also had priority pts and got two nights free. Have a fantastic time!

I'll definitely check out that site. Thanks... hope you have a fab time too!
