Has anyone stayed at Pigeon Pt. Lighthouse?

The DH and I are planning a weekend getaway that is off the beaten path. Does anyone know anything about the hostel at Pigeon Point, 50 miles south of San Francisco? Is there good hiking nearby? How about places to eat?

I really like Butano State Park, which is a very short drive away. Also the Año Nuevo State Park is just south of there, and it's a great day hike no matter whether the elephant seals are in season or not.

For places to eat, I'd highly recommend Duarte's Tavern in Pescadero - try their cream of artichoke soup, and leave room for pie!

I'm not going to be of any help as I have never stayed there. However, we did drive thru the parking area to get a closer look. It does have a great location but I have no idea what it looks like on the inside. We were on our way to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk if you would want to 'hike' around there.

The Boardwalk is a good suggestion in case we get tired of solitude and want a little excitement.

Wellvis:
Butano and Ano Nuevo both sound like home runs! The elephant seals aren't a real draw since about all they do is lie around, but the hiking looks great. We will be there in November, so let's hope for nice weather. And I'll definitely plan for dinner at Duarte's Tavern.

Many thanks for the suggestions.

We walked around the property and looked through the windows two years ago. I would be happy to stay there if I was in the area.
