Has anyone stayed at Glacier Park Lodge or St. Mary's Lodge?

If so. . I'd love your input. I have reservations at both places in July and can't decide between the ambiance of an old park lodge or convenient location to the park. Any thoughts would be much appreciated!!

If you mean Many Glacier Lodge, I was there last summer and found it to be a neat place. Yes it is an old park lodge but has great ambience. There are good trails and lots of chances to see bears in that area.

Yes it is out of the way but is not as crowded as the west side. It's more off the beaten path.

It's also on the way to Waterton in Canada. I really recommend taking a day to drive up. The town of Waterton is charming. You won't need any special papers to cross the border.

Which one would be better with kids ages 14 and 10?

Mom Feb 7th, 2002 07:18 PM

Better for what? walking, hiking, rock climbing, resting, swimming, horseback riding?

Better as far as facilities and being closer to good hiking areas. They don't necessarily have to swim when we'll be busy in the park all day. Thanks!

Both are great for hiking. Go to both
