Has Anyone Recently Stayed At Caribbean Beach at WDW?
 

We have an opportunity to stay at this resort in November and had a couple of questions. <BR> <BR>Is this hotel much too big to get around? <BR> <BR>What are the rooms like and the restaurant? <BR> <BR>Thank you for the information!

We stayed at the Caribbean Beach for 2 nights last Feb. I didn't care for it, but everything else was sold out by the time I made the reservation. After walking all day at the parks it seemed like a very long walk to the food court. I didn't see a restaurant, just a food court, which was very crowded in the morning.The hotel is one of the older ones in WDW. It looks like it had a superficial makeover, but our room seemed dull and beat up (original bath fixtures). It also was loud. Little kids and adults yelling to their friends across the courtyard early in the morning. I am a big Disney fan, but I would not stay here again unless it was the only Disney property available. I'd recommend Dixie Landings, Port Orleans, or the newer Coronado if they're an option for you. I think they're all about the same price as Caribbean Beach. Have fun!

I'd have to agree that it's not one of our favorites either. Of course, if you've found a great deal on a room there, alot of negatives can be overlooked. After all, you probably won't spend much time in your room. I'd second Coronado Springs. It's on a good WDW bus line, has a great food court and a nice pool. Port Orleans is nice also. I haven't stayed at Dixie Landings. If you do decide to stay at Carib. Beach, request a room near the lobby/food court. Otherwise, it is VERY large and you'll do lots of walking to get to your room. When we stayed there, they did have little golf carts that shuttled guests, but they weren't always available.

We stayed there in Nov. and I didn't care for it either. It was too spread out for one thing. The last thing you want after walking the parks all day is to have to walk a mile to the food court! Ah, the food court...plastic food on plastic trays. The sit down restaurant was pretty good tho pricey, but isn't everything at Wallet Disney World? <BR> <BR>As far as the rooms go, we had just come from a week at the Polynesian, so they looked even worse to us. They were very basic and spartan, no balcony or anything. Your door opened to the walkway. Reminded me of a budget motel. I was very disappointed with the place. I expected it to be a little more upscale for a moderate hotel.

One more thing I forgot to mention, the CB is on one of the worst bus lines. We had to wait forever for a bus to any park and when they came they were packed and we had to stand on many occasions. <BR> <BR> If it is at all in your budget try for one of the hotels on the monorail system. If you call WDW and they tell you there are no rooms available, call a travel agency. They can usually get you a room when you can't on your own.
