Has anyone received a "companion ticket"?

You know those plane tickets you can get by subscribing to a magazine. They'll give you a companion ticket to use within the US.
Has anyone received this kind of deal and are there any rules to this??

Companion tickets will have varying restrictions, such as blackout dates, minimum fare purchase, and so on.

And some companion tickets require that you buy a full fare coach ticket for the first traveler. Not usually the cheapest way to go.

I got a parking ticket once but never a companion ticket. Are you suggesting that I got a better deal with my parking ticket? :^)

I received a companion ticket from Chase for Continental Airlines when I accepted a credit card from them. Much to my pleased surprise, when I looked into plane tickets from Orlando to Albuquerque and couldn't find anything less than $399 round trip, I was able to use the companion ticket for only $50. The $450 for two tickets was a great deal!
