Has anyone ever booked through hawaiitravelbargains.com???
Hello,

I have been looking into booking our honeymoon in Hawaii on all different websites and travel agents and was wondering if any of you have ever booked your hawaii vacation through hawaiitravelbargains.com? I received a great quote which included 6 nights at the Maui Hyatt, 3 nights at the Kauai Hyatt, midsize car rental, airfare from Detroit, and inner island airfare for $4600.00...is this good and is this dotcom company a good source to nook through?

Thanks!
Pam

Hi Pamela. I am working on planning a trip to HI too, and I had not come across this site until I saw your post. I went to it and got their quote for the trip I've been researching. they came out about $150 higher than the best I have found so far. However, the quote is supposed to include all taxes and I'm not sure the lower quote included that. Another plus was the ability to include 2 destinations, I've found a lot of packages don't do that. A negative: the flights they gave were outdated, but hopefully they would straighten that out.

Have you checked the websites of airlines that serve Detroit? The airlines usually offer packages that can be pretty attractive.

My strategy is to find the best deal I can on my own, then ask a travel agent if they can find something better. Just contacted the agent today, and should have their reply tomorrow.

Sorry I can't really comment on the Hyatts, have never stayed there as our travel is in the budget to moderate category. I can say the Kaua'i Hyatt is gorgeous as far as the lobby and grounds; the beach there is truly beautiful, tho as you probably know not a swimming beach.

Good luck with your plans.

Amazingly, I'm working on booking a trip to Hawaii too so checked out your website. Saw that it is also called The Hawaii Visitors Center. When we booked our trip to Hawaii about 4 or 5 years ago we used them. Had a few problems and I admit some mistakes were made on my part, like wrong dates, etc. But they also screwed some stuff up which resulted in tickets having to be returned and then fedex'd back. I was forced to pay for the fedex even though it was their mistake. Little things like that kinda bother me, because you feel like they are not on your side to make your trip the best it can be. But I guess the good thing is that this was about 4 or 5 years ago and they are still in business, so maybe I just had bad luck with them. For this trip in September, I found http://www.greathawaiivacations.com/index.html. Their prices seem pretty decent compared to some others and the one condo we are looking at on Maui includes a free rental car for our stay. Does anyone have any feedback on this place?

I received a quote from the Hawaii Visitors Center for our trip to Maui in May. They were about $100 cheaper for the hotel we wanted. HOWEVER, and this is really important in my mind, they wanted full payment prior to the trip and they had a very hefty cancellation policy. I said no way when I could book thru the hotel directly with only a one night deposit and cancel within 4 days for a full refund. Be sure you know all their terms and conditions BEFORE you put your money down.

i have been to hawaii several times in the last two years. i found that planning my own trip, starting with the air tickets, then working with hotels/condo rentals was the cheapest and best tactic. i see now that travel to hawaii is really cheap, a price war with us airlines all competing. like going from washington dc to honolulu for $332. most tickets need to be purchased now, travel through the fall. i get several email travel updates and just compare pricing. the price war is independent of any agent, offered through airline sights. for examples of best fares, see bestfare.com.
and for inter island travel, nothing beats hawaiian airlines. they are great, offer several inter island deals. and lastly, i found that doing my own hotel/condo was best. if you plan to stay in one place for several days, try vrbo.com (vacation rental by owners.com). i have used them both times and in the caribbean as well. only had good luck. what islands are you visiting, and what time of year?anyth

The hyatt in maui is great, very nice hotel and in my opinion the best overall beach. Most tour agents use pleasent holidays and blue skys , to book trips. I also tried to book myself but found i could just barely beat the agents prices , except in the cases where i got a quote from someone trying to get me. In conclusion the packages offered you pay up front but you by insurance to cover any reason you cant go you only lose a hundred or so cancellation fee. your on the right track keep searching. nick
