Has anyone done the "Bike the Sites" tour in Washington DC?
I just found a website for this tour and am wondering if anyone has done this. I am thinking of possibly doing the evening tour after arriving in late afternoon this summer with my family. Any thoughts?

Have not done that tour but often take my own bike through the Mall, Capitol Hill, Memorials, Museums, Arlington Cemetary, and along the river to Georgetown or Old Town, Alexandria.
You can also just rent bikes at Bike the Sites. It's very easy as they are one block off the Nat'l Mall, you'll be off road mostly, and the Monumnets and Museums are extremly easy to find. This will give you flexibilty with time and which sites to see. Do you really need a guide to tell you "...and there's the Lincoln Memorial..." ??
You may want to do this loop combined with a trip around the National Mall and the Capitol Building:

This is late from the original, but just saw the question now. We just did Bike The Sites Monuments tour, end of October. GREAT TIME! It was easy enough, with just enough information & time to enjoy the sites. There was actually alot I did not know or had forgotten about history. And, if you do a tour, you get a discount on renting bikes later that day or the next to go see things at your own pace. Really was excellent, especially the 7-acre FDR Memorial. However, I could not believe how disrespectful this one middle-aged woman (not part of our tour)was, having her silly older teen sons line up & pretend to be men out of work in the Depression, standing in line among some scuptures. Really, it was an eye-opener. Anyway, our tour guide, Joss, even the held the interest of my teenager, so no complaints here. Sort of like London Walks.

runnerjefff mentions "London Walks" and I thought I'd point out that there is a group called "Washington Walks" (www.washingtonwalks.org) that meets at various Metro stations for a guided walk in various DC neighborhoods. I think most of their walks are $10 and they have some private guides available too.
I guess my friend was too shy to post about his "Bike the Sites" experience.
