Has anyone been to the Poconos

I would like to go the Poconos, but I heard that the resorts are "tacky". Is this true?? Thanks!!!1

I went twice last year and I thought it was beautiful. I'm not sure about the resorts, though. I was staying with friends both times. Living in Utah and seeing the Rockies gives one a different perspective to see the rolling mountains. The second time I went was in Tannersville. It was beautiful, and they have a nice Alpine slide at one of the resorts (don't remember the name, sorry).
good luck.

My husband and I have been to Caesars Cove Haven in the Poconos twice. It was great. The rooms are very nice. You can get rooms with both a fireplace, a jacuzzi and a small pool in them. You can get breakfast in your room. The resort has activities and staff that make your stay, not only romantic but fun also. We had a great time. I hope this helps.

My parents live in the Poconos so I visit there on a regular basis. I would definitely not go out of my way to vacation there. Yes, I think the resorts are tacky. And they are very expensive. Half of the large resorts are in one form of bankrupcy or another and are kind of run down. The views of the scenery might be pretty, but it is usually obscured by about 30 signs on each corner. I think there are nicer places to vacation.

Forget the Poconos. Most of the resorts are struggling to stay alive. They're old and patched up. What are you looking for? Mountains? Lakes? Relaxation? Close to home? Identify your needs and post a message. You'll get tons to ideas.
