Has anyone been to Cozumel?
No, no one has been to Cozumel. Seriously, what info do you need?
|
Susan: You may have more responses to this question if you post on the Caribbean board.
|
Have looked at Caribbean and Latin American boards. not much response there
What about diving? Do I need a wetsuit? What can non divers do while we are underwater?
What hotels and restuarants can you suggest?
What time year to go?
|
Check out www.aldora.com and wwww.seabum.com. seabum has lots of great info on restaurants. 2 good reasonable hotels are Plaza las Glorias and the old Fiesta Inn(Recently renamed). The diving is great. Aldora runs a great operation. Large HP tanks so you get xrtra bottom time.
The best restaurant IMHO is Prima. All restaurants are good and food very reasonabble.
If you have any specific questions email me.

Hi Susan: four of us hired a private plane while vacationing in Cancun and flew to Cozumel for the day. We were disappointed; if you are not into snorkeling, there's no point in going, in my opinion. We had heard that the downtown area was attractive, fun, lots of good shopping, etc. If that's so, we somehow missed it. We encountered all sorts of questionable people, including a policeman, in uniform, who offered to show us around in his car; when we said, "Aren't you working now?" he shrugged it off. The car rental process was a disaster, and to top it all off, we made the mistake of drinking iced tea at lunch and all were ill the next 2-3 days. We did see an absoutely gorgeous stretch of untouched beach on our drive around the island.
