harry potter rides

We are going to disney florida in march this year and want to know if anyone has been on the rides in Harry potter. Have heard it is quite a motion ride? How bad is it?

Welcome to Fodors. There is a lot of information in the archives for you to discover, In fact, there have been a number of reports here about the various Harry Potter rides. Use the search function above and just type "harry potter" and you will get a list.

Here are two:

Also, FYI, you have mislabeled your inquiry as a Trip Report (the little book symbol) which should be used when you are reporting about a trip rather than researching one.

Harry Potter isn't in Disneyworld, it's in Universal Lands of Adventure (way better than Disney, IMO). They renamed the former "dueling dragons" to use in the new the HP section of the theme park; that's a great roller coaster! Universal also has the Hulk, the Tower of Doom, Spiderman, and some really great water rides.

Of the three rides in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, two are roller coasters, with the amount of "motion ride" typical for coasters. One coaster is more for younger children with less motion.

The BEST ride is the one in Hogwarts castle. It is not a roller coaster; it is more of a "virtual reality" ride but DOES have movement, sometimes going sharply up or down, whipping you around, etc. You "fly" on a broomstick with Harry Potter during a quidditch match, etc. There are scary parts, too. It's a great ride and worth the loooong line.

Forbidden Journey is a simulator ride with some movement. It is similar to Sourin at Epcot.
Deuling Dragons is now called the Dragon Challenge and is a great roller coaster.
Flight of the hippograph is more for children.

I've always wanted to take my kids to Wizarding World of Harry Potter. My son wants to know how to become a wizard. It's cute.

Its really a cute place, creative place , that Harry Potter World which is at Islands of Adventure in Universal. They REALLY should have made this place bigger though! We went in October and it was packed! Very narrow street where the little shops were, long lines to get in.

The motion ride is in Hogwarts Castle, another long line, and my husband did it, but I get motion sickness so I just went with him through the castle part which is very cool and then I detoured to the gift shop while he went on the ride.

You MUST try the Butter Beer, its delicious!!!

The ride in Hogwarts Castle is amazing and not to be missed! I really felt like I was flying along on an adventure. While thrilling, I was not focused so much on the motion of the ride but all the images on the screens as I flew with Harry.
