Harrah's Las Vegas
We booked 3 nights at Harrah's Las Vegas for $30 per night just after Labor Day. I couldn't resist the price and figured at the worst, I am only out a small cancellation fee should we change our minds. Using the search function here, I was only able to find a few comments regarding this hotel. No comments were horrible. Most stated the rooms were similar to a Motel 6 but adequate, and with a good location for the price. That suits our needs fine. Any feed back on this property that you could provide would be most welcome. Thank you.

I've stayed at Harrahs and Venetian. I actually prefer Harrahs. The rooms are very nice (better than M6) and the staff was great. The whole place is much friendlier than Venetian or Belagio and the location can't be beat. The pool area is not that great but unless you plan to spend a lot of time there, who cares?
Harrahs has become my place of choice and for the rate you got, its a slam dunk!

Harrah's is a far cry from the Motel 6. Don't fret. Have a great time!

it's a good hotel in a good location (although, unlike bj, I much prefer the Venetian). The biggest drawback is the pool area - it really is the worst I've seen for a major strip hotel. But, if you don't plan on spending time at the pool, then this shouldn't affect your decision. Request the new tower as the rooms are better. Also, there is a very good steakhouse on premises called The Range. You'll be center strip - close to Venetian, Bellagio, Caesars, Mirage, etc.

Thanks for the replies. You have put my mind at ease except for the pool part...We don't plan on spending all our time there, but is it at least something you would swim in? Is the issue lack of atmosphere or dirt and nasty stuff?

Oh gimme a break.
Harrah's is in no way better than Venetian or Bellagio except price.
While it's a fine choice for location and there's nothing wrong with it, it certainly ain't the Cadillac of the strip hotels (which is what bj essentially inferred).

Well I don't think I implied that at all. Harrahs is not top end but having stayed at both I prefer Harrahs.
The pool area is not dirty. Its just not as ritzy as most other places but is certainly swimable.
If you need fancy cabanas and garden like setting for the pool area then this is not the place.
I'll stand by my original posting. Harrahs is a very friendly fun place and the accomodations are very nice.

I've never stayed at Harrrah's but the location definitely is perfect. They do have a great magic/comedy show which is almost free (one drink pp min) if you go to the afternoon show. Can't recall the magician's name but his show was quite entertaining! Enjoy....

I didn't mean to imply that the pool area is dirty. The issue is definitely lack of atmosphere. In Las Vegas many of the hotels (even the mid-price ones)have very elaborate pools. Harrah's is just a plain rectangle located on the third or fourth floor, with no landscaping - just some concrete with lounge chairs.

Thanks for the replies. The pool sounds fine--can't imagine spending all that much time there in the afternoon heat of Las Vegas in the summer anyhow. I'm now very happy with our decision--especially for $30 per night.
