Harlem area

My son and I have to be at a meeting at 10 o'clock Saturday morning at 127th street. We were talking about going up Friday night but have no idea where to stay or what to do in that area. Should we stay close by or take the subway from another area? We are driving in from PA so we will have a car. Any ideas on what to do and where to eat in this part of the city? We have done the Time Square, Rockefeller Plaza area already. Need some new ideas!!! Thanks.

The meeting is at The Choir Academy of Harlem, between Madison and Park Aves.

Dino BBQ address is 646 W 131st St.
You won't be disappointed.

Dinosaur BBQ is quite a long way from where you will be. If you stay just about anyplace in midtown or even downtown you can easily arrive at a 10am meeting at your destination. I would suggest picking a hotel that is close to the Lexington Avenue IRT(#4,5,6)subway line..anyplace in Manhattan. In the morning you can take the train to 125th and Park which is very close to your meeting place. The area around the meeting place might not be where you would want to hang out the Friday night before the meeting. Then again, it might be...we would need to know more about your age, tastes, etc. What kind of nightlife are you interested in? What kind of eating places? What I am trying to say is that you do not need to limit yourselves to staying in that area if you prefer not to; it is easy to get there from most anyplace in Manhattan by train.
