Harlem accomodation
Harlem- Advice on where I can stay- hotel or B&B, or?? June 30th to July 2nd. Help?? Not interested in hostels. Am thinking of renting there in the fall so want to be in the area, as near to the Park as possible. Thanks, Cat

I don't really understand what location you want (which park, Central or Morningside?) but the Harlem Flophouse, 102 Brownstone and Sugar Hill Harlem Inn are the 3 best b & b's in Harlem that I know of. You'll find reviews for all on tripadvisor.

Central Park oly goes to 110thSt - which isn't considered Harlem. Also Morningside Park really isn't either.
What specific areas are you looking at - some of those are quite upscale/expensive - versus further north where there are still some bargains. |
sorry, me not so clear. I wanted to be able to wlk to Central Park from the place I stay, so maybe I am out of whack here? I will follow up on suggestions, with BIG thanks.

If you're asking only a couple of blocks - that's not harlem. If you're talking 15 or 20 or more it will be. But - that's just the northern end of the Park - it extends south to 59th St.
Do you want the park just to walk in some greenery - or are you looking for specific sites: Strawberry Fields, the Lake, the Zoo etc? |
