Hard Rock Stadium - transportation to stadium or parking?

My husband and I will be going to the Dolphins/Patriots game in Dec. and we will be staying at a hotel near the Fort Lauderdale airport since we will be arriving on Sunday, late at night, and leave early Tuesday morning after the game on Monday night. I was thinking about renting a car from Monday to Tuesday so we could get to the game, how is the parking situation in the stadium? I've seen websites where they rent the parking spot ahead of time, is it worth it? Does anybody know of a good area to park that isn't that expensive? Is there a general area in the stadium parking lot that is good to park so we can eave pretty easily once the game is done and head back to FLL?

I know that some highways in Florida are toll roads and do not have the cash lane available, do you think I will need to get a toll pass from the rental car company if I will be staying in the Fort Lauderdale area and around the airport during the day and going to the stadium at night?

Thanks in advance!

There is a parking lot that takes cash ($20) in a decent walking distance from the stadium. Follow the signs to Yellow parking. They also advertise an Uber Zone, but I do not know anyone who has used it.

Leaving pretty easily after the game is over may mean different things to different people. It may take you 30 minutes to exit the parking lot.

And though I am a Dolphin fan and season ticket holder, I have a feeling the stadium may begin to empty out WAY before the end of the fourth quarter.

Have a great trip

Why not just take Uber or Lyft? Renting a car just to get to the game seems like overkill to me.

Not sure if this is the case in your NFL city, but be aware that you can carry only a transparent see-thru bag into the stadium
