Hard Rock Orlando Renovations?

Will be staying here at the end of October. Has anyone stayed here recently that could update me on the progress of the renovations, as well as how the service/cleanliness was? Thanks!

My family stayed there late June/early July...while the rooms were fairly clean they were tired looking. The bathroom was very weird, hard to open the door if you are on the potty. Burn holes in the carpet, the maid put the bedspread on upside down, hard to get towels, etc. But they rectified everything and the stay was nice. I don't think it is worth the price for the room but the head of the line pass makes it pay for itself.

I was there in the spring and di not notice any renovations or the need for them. It is a very nice hotel with a nice pool area and a five minute walk to Universal Studios. Evewrything seemed to be neat and clean.

Stayed there in early September. No problems, clean rooms, and convenient. The only issues I noticed were lighting--half my room was in the dark due to burned out light bulbs in three different fixtures, a bit surprising for a hotel of that caliber. However, when I checked in at 2 A.M. and notified them, they sent someone up with ten minutes to take care of it. The only other problem was with the room card and trying to use it to pay for meals at Universal Studios. It kept saying it wasn't activated and I'd have to go back to the lobby and do it again, then back to the park to get the same error again, etc., for charging meals to the room.

You can walk five minutes to the park, take a free mini boat shuttle, or pay a young guy a few bucks to ride on a special bicycle there.

UPDATE: Stayed there in October. The hotel did not have a room for us when we arrived late at night so they bumped us up to the club floor. The club floor was excellent - food/drinks, great convenience. Was supposed to only be for one night, but the hotel didn't follow through on contacting us to move as arranged and after 2 days of back and forth with the desk, they finally said that they didn't want to inconvenience us any further and we ended up staying on the club floor for the duration of our stay at non-club floor rates. We could have virtually eaten all of our food from the club room - we only purchased 1 meal a day since there were always snacks, drinks, fruit, bottlesd water, hors d'ovres, etc available. I would definitely stay at this hotel again, pool was outstanding, location choice, had a blast.
